If there are any questions you have that are not answered here, please feel free to
call us for any information you may need.
- How are the vehicles washed? -
We start by soaking the door jambs, engine, and wheels in mild degreaser. We then clean your wheels by hand using specialized detailing brushes. We follow that by giving all those areas as well as the rest of the car a high pressure rinse. Next we use a foam gun to completely coat your vehicle in foam to safely lift all the dirt off the surface of your car. We follow that with a two bucket rinse/soap system with grit guard technology that keeps all the dirt at the bottom of the bucket and off our wash mitts (no scratches added here, only removed!). We then hand dry your entire vehicle using compressed air and super absorbent waffle-weave microfiber towels. Here at Calgary Auto Spa nothing touches your car except microfiber!
- What is involved in the detailing process? (the following applies to our luxury package treatment) -
We start with a vacuum and then proceed to go over every square inch of your interior/truck with a mild cleaner and a soft brush to get at all the crevices. We then protect all vinyl/leather surfaces with specialized products, and proceed to clean all windows inside & out immaculately. All compartments are cleaned out including arm rest and glove box. We even clean your pedals and foot rest. All exterior services are dressed and buffed by hand, your wheels are hand buffed.
- How do you shampoo vehicles? -
We start by brushing a lifting agent into your carpets, after letting it sit for a short period of time we use equipment that sprays 190 degree water into your carpet which is then immediately sucked out. This along with a special two-part chemical designed to get out the toughest stains can leave your carpets looking virtually new. We do not remove seats as this
is a liability issue but we do adjust them forward and back to ensure we clean 95% of the carpet.
- What is power polishing? -
Power polishing is basically an extremely fine wet sand of the vehicle. We are fixing swirl marks and scratches by cutting down the clear coat and resurfacing the paint job. A good
rule of thumb is that if you can catch a scratch with your nail it is too deep to fix, although polishing can lessen the appearance. Polishing is a fantastic way to make your vehicle look new, and it is highly recommended for darker colours (especially black). Getting a complete detail & polish done on a used vehicle can potentially up the value more than triple what you paid for the polish itself, as well as make it an easy sell!
- How do you protect my paint? -
There are two types of products that protect paint, most people know about the first which is carnauba waxes. These waxes produce the deepest shine and really bring out the colour
of a car, but the protection only last about a month. The second type of product is called a sealant, sealants are engineered to protect your vehicle for up to 6 months or longer if you don't drive your vehicle often. Sealants are what you may know as "paint protection" that car dealerships sell you with a new car. We also protect your wheels with a wheel treatment that lasts about a month as wheels are subject to more abuse than the paint. Brake dust will rinse right off wheels that have been treated this way and will keep them looking brand new..
- How do you remove heavy odors? -
We have two odor removal methods, one for inorganic smells (e.g. smoke) and one for organic smells (e.g. milk). Both
are true deodorants which remove the source of the smell. The first oxidizes odor elements in your fabric and vents and the
second is a safe chlorine di-oxide treatment which kills the source of the odor.
- What is fabric protection? -
Fabric protection adds extra life to fabrics by reducing fibre friction. Beading action makes spills easy to clean and repels oil and water based stains. (coffee, juice, etc.). Our application
atomizes the chemical ensuring the most even thorough coat possible.
- What is 3M protection film? -
Scotchgard Paint Protection Film maintains the beauty and integrity of automotive finishes on vulnerable exterior painted surfaces such as leading hood edges, fender end caps and
rocker panels. This rugged urethane film helps protect against stone chips, bug damage, abrasion and weathering. Scotchgard Paint Protection film is transparent and nearly invisible. It keeps your paint looking great, significantly reduces paint chips and bug damage, and helps boost your trade-in value.
- Is there free parking? -
Yes, we have a number of marked stalls that customers may park in.
